Joan Cloonan is the retired Vice President of Environment and Regulatory Affairs for J. R. Simplot Company, Food Group. She has a background in environmental law and received her Juris Doctor from Florida State University College of Law, and her Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from Cornell University. Dr. Cloonan has taken an active role in public service as a member of numerous committees and task forces. She was a member of the Idaho Association of Commerce and Industry Environmental Committee from 1986 - 99, and has been a representative on many state and federal committees including the Idaho Environmental Common Sense Task Force, the Idaho Ground Water Quality Council, and the Idaho Solid Waste Regulatory Committee.
